PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns fell to 2-8 after an overtime loss Sunday night against the Sacramento Kings, but are still way ahead in the overall game. Phoenix's strength will be
tested in the next few games with the absence of Kevin Durant, who will be tested again in two weeks after suffering a calf strain. While the Suns have looked far better under the
new leadership of head coach Mike Budenholzer, Phoenix still has some concerns as the regular season is now in full swing. Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus says the Suns' biggest
concern this season is another first-round exit in the postseason. “The Suns have one of the highest payrolls in the NBA with scorers Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
Mat Ishbia, who took over the team in early 2023, opted to comply with the league's new restrictive collective bargaining agreements with high-penalty donors with the hope that the
high-end talent would be enough to win.“Last year the Minnesota Timberwolves swept the team out of the first round. Phoenix fired head coach Frank Vogel and brought in Mike
Budenholzer. The biggest fear would be another weak, early exit in the first round.”What would cause this to happen? Health was a major concern for Phoenix's stars last season,
as the trio of Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker only played in 41 regular-season games together in the 2023-24 season. Durant, as previously mentioned, will be out for at
least two weeks while Beal is dealing with an elbow injury before suffering a knee injury on Sunday. Booker appeared on the injury report last Friday with an illness but was
otherwise relatively healthy. Luckily for Phoenix, they have quality depth. Backup point guard Monte Morris still has one of the best assists-to-turnover ratios in the league,
while forwards Grayson Allen, Ryan Dunn and Royce O'Neale in the starting rotation are also interchangeable. At least during the regular season - we know things are completely
different in the postseason.Cohesion would be a problem for any team under a first-year coach, although the Suns already look strong under Budenholzer - chemistry seems to be the
least of their worries at the moment, and so have factors like overall offense and three-point shooting satisfactory so far. The Suns have a clear identity that they are trying to

establish. New point guard Tyus Jones was also one of the most underrated free agents in the league. It really feels like Phoenix's season comes down to health.
